Almost 25 years after her debut on a major label, she is keeping us inspired by her characteristic talent, and this time, she is doing it in a chic, cut style.
On January 15, the rapper / songwriter / producer shared a behind-the-scenes moment with a touch up. Celebrity hairstylist Kellon Deryck is the artist responsible for the plain light purple look. Deryck also worked with stars like Megan Thee Stallion, Teyana Taylor and the City Girls.
Missy rocked the fierce cut of her cameo in Bree Runway’s new video, “ATM”. She went in and out of accents as only she can, with Deryck noting that every time she changed her voice, she changed her hair too. Of course, this is not the first time she has dazzled us with a shortcut that we all want to recreate – who can forget the iconic finger waves Missy used at the beginning of her career? She even brought them back in 2017 for a Halloween costume that honored their unforgettable style.
Missy also spoke about the importance of her sense of identity at a deeper level. “I was always DIFFERENT in my STYLE AND SOUND, which took me much more than listening to understand me”, she wrote on Twitter in 2018. “But I didn’t know how [anyone] but MYSELF and here I am a walking TESTIMONY 4 those who said it will not work, I say CONTINUE DOING YOU. “
