Mossimo Giannulli was sentenced to five months in prison, but after 56 days in solitary confinement, he is requesting early release.
According to court documents obtained by E! News, Lori Loughlin’s husband filed an emergency motion to change his sentence. Specifically, his lawyer asked a judge to consider allowing Mossimo to serve the rest of his sentence at home, citing concerns about the circumstances of his detention.
Due to his plea bargain, upon entering the prison, Mossimo was to be quarantined with other minimum security prisoners, after which he would be transferred to a minimum security camp. However, his lawyer claims that Mossimo was placed in solitary confinement located near average security prisoners for 24 hours a day, even after testing negative for COVID-19 several times.
During his time in solitary, Mossimo’s lawyer says he was allowed to leave his cell three times a week to bathe, but stayed indoors for meals. In addition, the lawyer states that he was only allowed to call the family sporadically.
