More portable projectors, please!
I am one a little weird here at Gizmodo when it comes to projectors. I love them and I’m especially addicted to portable projectors that can move with you from room to room, depending on where you want to broadcast something. Sure, a beautiful 65 inch OLED is great for watching premium videos, but how about just relaxing and watching where you feel comfortable in your home? So a portable projector with a decent speaker in the unit and a wireless solution? AND is the size of a cup of coffee? Asus, consider me intrigued.
The company announced this week its new ZenBeam Latte L1 projector as part of its CES product line. The mug-sized device works as a projector and also as a Bluetooth speaker, which means you can also stream music or podcasts from it. It is equipped with Aptoide TV to access streaming applications and supports screen mirroring for streaming from your phone. And the company says that this compact projector projects up to 300 lumens and can project an image from 40 to 120 inches – as big, if not bigger, than your TV.
As a Bluetooth speaker, Asus says the Latte can last up to 12 hours on a single charge. As a projector, you work with up to three hours on battery only. But this is certainly enough time to catch an episode of your favorite show or even a movie with a normal run time.
What I love about this projector, though – even if battery life for serious streaming isn’t its strongest selling point – is that it is compact enough to pick up and go anywhere. Damn it, you could throw it in a backpack for a socially distant movie night in the backyard. But it will also fit in smaller spaces, such as a shelf or bookcase, without requiring you to move a lot of things to make it fit.

The price and exact release date are not clear at the moment, but we have contacted Asus for more information. And you better believe that I’ll be the first in line to get one of these when it officially hits stores.
