Yuengling beer expands to Texas as first growth move to the west

Yuengling is coming to Texas this year.

DG Yuengling & Son has announced that the first state of its westward expansion will be Texas, as it partners with Molson Coors to prepare its beers in the Lone Star State.

Yuengling is the oldest brewery in the United States. The brewery based in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, currently distributes its beer in 22 states, from Massachusetts to Louisiana.

Last fall, DG Yuengling and Molson Coors announced their collaboration to expand Yuengling’s availability in more states under the banner of their newly formed Yuengling Company.

“We hear from consumers across the country who are excited to enjoy our beer, which is why we are proud to announce that Texas will be the first state in the west to expand into,” Wendy Yuengling, managing director of the official company , said in a written statement.

Yuengling expects his beers to be available in the Lone Star State from the fall of 2021.

Molson Coors will produce Yuengling beers locally in Texas at its Fort Worth brewery.

“We are working hard to ensure that our beer recipes and traditions are followed according to our high quality standards,” said Wendy Yuengling. “We have passionate fans of Yuengling in Texas, so we look forward to finally bringing the products to them.”

Yuengling expects his beers to reach Texas retailers this fall.

Gavin Hattersley, president and CEO of the Molson Coors Beverage Company, said that Yuengling’s move to Texas “will provide a tremendous opportunity for growth” for both companies.

“By preparing Yuengling’s iconic beer at our world-class facilities in Ft. Worth, we will make many Texans happy,” he said in a written statement.
