Presenter TJ Lavin simply said that “she was no longer authorized” to participate in the program, while citing a “personal matter”.
Fans of “The Challenge” were shocked to see avant-garde Natalie Anderson leave the series in Wednesday night’s episode – and now, she is opening up about the real reason she left the series and the painful consequences.
During last night’s episode, host TJ Lavin said that the former “Survivor” student “was no longer authorized” to participate in the program, while she simply said that a “personal matter” was behind her departure. Speaking to PEOPLE after the episode aired, she explained that she had to leave after finding out she was pregnant – before having a miscarriage after she left.

Although she and her boyfriend Devin Perez were not trying to have a child, Anderson was asked to take a pregnancy test after she revealed that she had not menstruated. Although she said that “it is always irregular” when doing reality shows because of the unique circumstances, the production wanted to “take the necessary precautionary measures” and she auditioned.
“I literally didn’t think it would be positive,” she said, adding that when she found out she was pregnant, she continued to ask the production to let her stay and compete.
“I know my body and I would have put myself in it. If I could have signed a waiver and competed pregnant, believe me, I would have done that, ”she said. “The production just looked at me like, ‘This girl is crazy’ … there really was no way they would allow me to compete pregnant. I knew that as soon as I found out.”

Anderson was not exactly excited about the news, calling it “a really unfortunate thing at a very bad time”, as she was in a position to win the entire show. After leaving production, she discovered that she was eight weeks old and gradually had the idea of being a father with her boyfriend. But then, she had a miscarriage.
“I had to digest the pregnancy loss and be like, ‘Now I don’t have a’ Challenge ‘in my victory and I don’t have this new journey that I was looking forward to,” “she told People. “It was very difficult.”
Although it was a difficult journey for her, Anderson said he did a lot of work “to get to this space I am in now” and added that he hopes to return to the show in the future.
“The Challenge” will air on Wednesdays on MTV.
