Riverside County Seniors 65 and Over and Essential Workers Can Get Covid-19 Vaccines on Thursday

In Riverside County, people 65 and older can start receiving their coronavirus vaccine on Thursday, along with adults of all ages if they work in education, law enforcement, food and agriculture and emergency services.

This group constitutes Phase 1B of the county’s vaccine distribution structure. People at all levels of Phase 1A can also be vaccinated.

NOTE:

  • For employees in Phase 1A and 1B – Level 1, an appointment and a badge / letter of identification from the workplace employee are required or you will not be vaccinated
  • For people over 65, a consultation and identity document is required.

Vaccines will only be given to those who have booked in advance. You can find the latest information on the distribution of vaccination, including locations and how to register at ruhealth.org/covid-19-vaccine

Those 65 and older who need help making an appointment can call the Riverside County Office of Aging at 800-510-2020 or 2-1-1.

Clinics will provide vaccines free of charge, however, you you will need to register before arrival and provide proof of eligibility (badge, business identification, letter of proof from the employer).

Medical insurance information will be requested.

A clinic was opened on Sunday, January 17 at the Indio Fairgrounds. This location will be a walking clinic. You still need to register to be vaccinated.

A drive-up clinic in Lake Elsinore opening on Saturday will be exclusively for people over 65.

Other providers are offering vaccines, including pharmacies at Albertsons and Ralphs supermarkets.

This came after Governor Gavin Newsom announced that the state is immediately allowing residents aged 65 and over to receive scarce coronavirus vaccines.
