The girl may have consciously exposed hundreds of COVID-19 at a country music show, said Val Verde County Judge

SANTO ANTÓNIO – The Val Verde County judge said someone from the Del Río area may have deliberately exposed hundreds of people to COVID-19 at a country music event in San Antonio.

Judge Lewis Owens recently posted a strong, familiar message on Facebook about how to prevent the spread of the deadly virus.

“We are getting a lot of calls. Why are our cases increasing? It doesn’t depend on us anymore, folks. It’s up to you, ”said Owens in the Facebook post.

In the post, Owens was specifically calling a girl from the Del Río area who he said went to a Cody Johnson show at the Cowboys Dancehall last weekend, knowing she was positive for COVID-19.

“There are pictures from Snapchat that you obviously took with the mask on your wrist and are having fun. Are you sure, lady. You should never have left, ”said Owens in the post.

Owens said that after the photo appeared, the girl tried to cover it up.

“So you have the courage, the audacity, to lie to the trackers you fought with your mother and all those other things. That’s why you weren’t at home and then you confess, ”said Owens.

Owens knows that the damage may have already been done.

“People like her are the ones who bring these things back and kill families,” he said.

The girl Owens referred to received a summons, and the judge said he plans to disclose her name as soon as possible to make her an example.

The Cowboys Dancehall was cited for two violations of the city’s Emergency Health Statement due to the large crowd at the shows. The dance hall is now about to be closed.

TABC is also investigating possible alcohol violations at weekend events.
