The Powerball jackpot for Wednesday’s lottery draw jumped to around $ 550 million with a cash option of $ 411.4 million – potentially making it the 12th largest in the history of the US lottery.
The winning numbers were: 4, 19, 23, 25 and 49. The Power Ball drawn was 14 with a 2X Power Play.
The Powerball jackpot has not been won since September 16, when someone who bought a ticket at Ballston Spa, New York, won the maximum prize pool of $ 94.6 million. Since then, 33 draws have been carried out without a jackpot winner.
No one reached the $ 470 million jackpot on Saturday, although second prize tickets were sold in Florida and Pennsylvania. Each ticket corresponded to five numbers, but not the Powerball and is worth $ 1 million.
In New Jersey, four third prize tickets were purchased corresponding to four numbers plus Powerball. A ticket sold at 7-Eleven on the main avenue in Clifton is worth $ 100,000 because the buyer spent $ 1 more on the Power Play option, New Jersey Lottery officials said.
Three other tickets purchased at the following locations are valued at $ 50,000 each:
- Mini Mart Food Store on Danforth Avenue in Jersey City
- QuickChek on Union Avenue in Hazlet
- Utopia Deli & Catering on Warwick Turnpike in the Hewitt section of West Milford
Saturday’s winning numbers were: 14, 26, 38, 45 and 46. The drawn Power Ball was 13 with a Power Play of 2X.
The odds of hitting the Powerball jackpot are 292,201,388 to 1. A player who buys a $ 2 ticket has about 1 in 11,688,053 chances of hitting five numbers and winning at least $ 1 million, while the odds are from 913,129 to 1 to win the third prize of at least $ 50,000.
Powerball is played on Wednesday and Saturday in 45 states, Washington DC, the United States Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.
The New Jersey Lottery office in Lawrence is open by appointment only. You can still claim your earnings – as long as they are less than $ 599.50 – in person at any retailer.
The lottery is also accepting claims by mail, although officials warn that payments may be temporarily delayed. Winners are advised to make copies of the application form and the winning ticket for their records.
