The QAnon believer arrived at his destination on Wednesday, ready for battle. After learning that Vice President Mike Pence would not prevent certification of the Biden Electoral College’s victory, Meredith texted “Wartime” while on the way to DC
In later messages, he warned that he was “3.5 hours of target practice”, “ready to remove several skulls from the shoulders” and “so ready for FK SOME TRAITORS”.
“I’m not going to jail,” he wrote at one point. “[T]the morgue maybe, not the prison. “
Meredith brought with her a Glock covered with American flag skin, an assault rifle with a telescopic sight, high-capacity clips and about 2,500 rounds of ammunition, including at least 320 “round” rounds.
He was arrested last Thursday after allegedly assaulting a pedestrian in Washington. Meredith left her vehicle and reportedly head-butted an individual, knocking him to the ground, beating him and fleeing the scene in his truck, according to a sworn statement.
Meredith’s trip is detailed in a 10-page memo filed on Wednesday in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia by United States Attorney Michael Sherwin. In an interview with authorities after his arrest, Meredith admitted to having sent the text messages found on her phone. He also claimed to be a regular marijuana user with a history of mental illness.
On the day of her arrest, Meredith told authorities that “you can go to the mayor’s office and put a 5.56 on your skull”, calling it “FKG c —.” He also said he was “thinking about going to Pelosi C’s speech — and putting a bullet in his head on live TV”, later describing the California Democrat as a “Dead B — Walking”.
“I hope you are reading this FBI agent, FK U,” he said after threatening Bowser. “Did you get that, Mr. Marxist FBI Agent?” he sent a message after threatening Pelosi. “Go FK yourself.”
Meredith is accused of reporting interstate threat communications. Prosecutors argue that Meredith should remain in detention until trial because “[n]o Conditions or combination of conditions can guarantee the safety of the community and its return to this jurisdiction for future legal proceedings. “
Sherwin wrote that Meredith “shows a strong antipathy towards law enforcement and the leaders of this city and nation”, noting that “all of this was on full display when he arrived in the city to commit abominable acts of violence the day after the siege of the Capitol. ”
“He also has no ties to the community and does not seem to care about government functions,” said Sherwin. “A clearly disturbed, disturbed and dangerous individual who fantasizes about committing horrible acts of violence and takes countless steps to execute them by driving through various states with a trailer stocked with thousands of rounds of ammunition and various firearms, including a rifle assault – You must not remain in the community. “
