Popular PS4 exclusive coming to Nintendo Switch

A popular PS4 exclusive will arrive on the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite in April. More specifically, developer Falcom and the publisher and NIS America announced that The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV is finally losing PS4 exclusivity and will arrive on the Nintendo Switch on April 9 in North America and Europe. Meanwhile, a week later, on April 16, the game will hit Switch in the Oceania region.

Previously, the aforementioned duo announced that on March 18 the game would arrive on the Nintendo Switch, but only in Japan. And for Japan, this release date still remains. However, the rest of the world will need to wait another month to get their hands on the game, at least on Switch and Switch Lite.

The game is currently only available on PS4 and PS4. It debuted in 2018, but only in Japan. Western players had to wait until 2020 to take their turn with the RPG. And now the game is coming to the Switch, and is also scheduled to arrive on the PC later this year.

As for the game itself, it is part of the Trails series and the biggest The legend of heroes franchise. Meanwhile, it is the fourth and final entry into the Cold steel tetralogy. At the time of publication, the RPG sports an 82 over on Metacritic.

“The Erebonian Empire is on the verge of total war,” says an official account of the game. “It will occur right after the end of Cold Steel Trails III, Class VII heroes find themselves against the full force of the Empire in an attempt to impede their path of total domination. In addition, the Erebonian Civil War hero and Class VII instructor, Rean Schwarzer, disappeared. Now, Class VII students, old and new, must team up with heroes from across the continent to create the only chance the world will be spared total destruction. “
