The New York Rangers reduced the team’s active roster by 18 players and announced the roster of 22 men and a squad of six taxis for the 2020-21 season.
There are no big surprises here, but it is worth mentioning that K’Andre Miller joined the team and, of course, he will be on the top pair with Jacob Trouba. That, my friends, is what you call the big deal.
It is also no surprise that Jack Johnson is on the main list and not in the taxi squad. Speaking of the taxi squad … Morgan Barron, Anthony Bitetto, Colin Blackwell, Libor Hajek, Matthew Robertson and goalkeeper Keith Kinkaid are on the squad.
Among the 18 players eliminated were 12 players being assigned to the Hartford Wolf Pack. The 2020-21 AHL season is scheduled to start on February 4 and the Wolf Pack will be in a division with Providence Bruins and Bridgeport Sound Tigers.
Assigned to Hartford
Brodzinski, Crawley, Fontaine, Gettinger, Greco, Huska, Khodorenko, Raddysh, Reunanen, Richards, Rueschhoff and Wall.
So, there you have it. List of 22 Rangers men and taxi squad. The 2020-21 NHL season starts tomorrow and there will be 116 consecutive hockey nights.
Let’s drop the disc.
