Dennis Rodman’s daughter, Trinity, signs up for the NWSL draft

Washington State’s freshman wing, Trinity Rodman, daughter of former NBA star Dennis Rodman, is among the players available for selection in Wednesday’s NWSL draft.

Rodman, 20, has long excelled in the US youth teams, dazzling observers with his speed and skill in finishing. She scored eight goals and six assists for the team that won the CONCACAF 2020 women’s under-20 championship last March.

– USWNT prospect Macario signs with European giants Lyon

Because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 women’s college football season was postponed until the spring of 2021, meaning that Rodman was never able to run for the cougars.

The draft lost some of its luster with the news that Stanford striker Catarina Macario has signed a 2 ½ year contract with European champion Olympique Lyonnais, but Rodman is among those who should be eliminated in the first round.

Other possible options for the first round are University of North Carolina midfielder / striker Brianna Pinto, Stanford defender / midfielder Kiki Pickett and UNC defender Emily Fox.

Racing Louisville FC holds the first overall choice, as well as the fifth choice in the first round. Sky Blue FC has three of the first eight teams, including No. 3 and No. 4.

The NWSL draft is Wednesday at 19:00 GMT and will be broadcast live exclusively on Twitch.
