The Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, much of which has been closed since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic in March, will serve as the first super distribution point (POD) for COVID-19 vaccines in Orange County.
The site is expected to come on stream later this week, county officials announced on Monday. Also on Monday, LA County announced that its Covid-19 mass test operation at Dodger Station will be phased out this week so that the sports arena can be transformed into a large-scale vaccination site.
“Disneyland Resort, the largest employer in the heart of Orange County, has stepped up to host the county’s first Super POD location – performing a monumental task in our vaccination distribution process,” said Acting President Andrew Do, First District , Orange County Ad.
The site will have the capacity to vaccinate thousands of residents daily, according to the municipality.
