After a 52-24 victory over Ohio State at the College Football Playoff National Championship, it is no surprise that Alabama will end the 2020 season as the unanimous No. 1 team in the final AP Top 25 vote. Which team finished 4th may be a surprise.
Texas A&M felt strongly that he should have been in this year’s playoff. While the Aggies were passed over in favor of Notre Dame, they will finish fourth in the top 25 of the AP. Coming from an Orange Bowl win over North Carolina, Texas A&M (9-1) ends with its best ranking at the end of the season since 1939, when this team finished in first place.
Although the Buckeyes lost to Crimson Tide on Monday night, they remained in second place in the final ranking. Clemson fell one place to No. 3, while Fighting Irish completed the top five. Oklahoma, with seven consecutive wins at the end of the year, ends in sixth. The rest of the top 10 reflects the results of the bowl season, with Georgia, Iowa State and Northwestern entering the top 10 after victories.
Three news teams reached the final ranking: No. 20 Oklahoma State, No. 23 Ball State and No. 25 Buffalo.
