Acer presents a trio of new game monitors like CES 2021, highlighted by a new Nitro with HDMI 2.1. But HDMI 2.1 has not yet made significant advances in desktop monitors; there are other technologies like AMD FreeSync that can handle variable and adaptable refresh rates on the PC, so it hasn’t been a priority. Now that monitors are becoming almost as prevalent as TVs at home, however, it’s more likely than ever that you have a console installed next to them: that’s what I have, which can finally be the impetus to expand its use, in less in more sophisticated models.

Acer has put it on just one of its 2021 monitors so far, the $ 900 28-inch Nitro XV282K KV. Aimed at “conventional” players, this addition to the XV2 series brings the 4K resolution display line at 144 Hz with an HDMI 2.1 port to connect to your Xbox Series X or PS5 console, supporting maximum resolution and 120Hz variable refresh rate. Like some recent members of his family, he supports FreeSync Premium on the PC, DisplayHDR 400 Acer’s Agile Splendor certification and technology to increase pixel response times.

But Acer decided not to put HDMI 2.1 on its most expensive and enthusiastic Predator gaming monitors. The 1440p, $ 1,100 Predator XB273U NX comes with a 275 Hz refresh rate – with native 240 Hz overclocking – and incorporates Nvidia’s Reflect Latency Analyzer, announced at CES last year on its 360 esports monitors Hz. The technology was designed to help you discover where input latency is in your configuration, such as the gap between mouse movements to render the screen, to extract every bit of competitive performance. It also supports Nvidia G-Sync and has the widest range of colors in the group, with 95% P3.

The 32-inch, $ 1,200 Predator XB323QK NV jumps to 4K at 144 Hz, also incorporates Agile Splendor (I never tire of saying that) and is Certified DisplayHDR 400 with a 90% P3 color gamut. It is compatible with G-Sync; which is similar to FreeSync and does not require expensive embedded Nvidia hardware.

Both Predators include Acer VisionCare 4, which adds automatic adjustment of ambient light and TUV Rheinland Eyesafe certification for low emission of blue light.
