Former defensive striker of South Carolina Gamecocks Byron Jerideau could be joining Shane Beamer’s team.
FootballScoop’s John Brice tweeted that Jerideau would have a similar role to that in Tennessee. Jerideau has been the assistant director of sports performance for Volunteers since 2018.

Jerideau, who played for the 2010-12 Gamecocks, worked in the strength and tolerance department of the 2016-17 program. He made stops in Houston and Appalachian State, before Will Muschamp and Jeff Dillman hired him in South Carolina.
During his playing career, Jerideau had a maximum squat of 675 pounds and his highest bench press was 500. He finished with 57 career tackles.
Jerideau, a graduate of Colleton (SC) County High School, received his bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. His college career also included a one-year break at Fort Scott Community College.

On a personal level, Jerideau demands equally dedicated efforts from the student-athletes he trains, but he balances this by promoting strong relationships through open and honest communication. Its goal is to make the weight room a high-energy and positive space for student-athletes and their colleagues.
On Sunday, South Carolina coach Shane Beamer officially appointed Luke Day as the director of strength and conditioning.
