In a twist, Moose won a chance at Impact’s future world champion Rich Swann, despite losing to Willie Mack in an “I Quit” fight at Genesis on Impact Plus on Saturday.
At the show’s main event, Moose had Mack knocked out after several elbows, making him unable to say “I give up”. Moose was getting ready to “Pillmanize” Mack’s neck when Swann ran and asked him to stop. Moose initially refused, resulting in Swann begging and offering him a chance for the title he had wanted for some time. Moose said the magic words and Mack won as a result.
Swann will be part of a six-man tag on the Hard To Kill pay-per-view next Saturday, teaming up with Motor City machine guns against AEW world champion Kenny Omega and Impact team champions The Good Brothers.
The Genesis show also saw the crowning of the first Super X-Cup winner since 2017, when Ace Austin defeated Blake Christian in the eight-player one-night tournament finals.
