4,863 new COVID-19 cases in Alabama

The CDC changes the orientation of the airborne coronavirus, recognizes that the virus can spread to more than 6 feet indoors

Alabama has added another 4,863 cases of coronavirus since yesterday.

The January 9 data from the Alabama Department of Public Health shows that the state has registered 399,150 cases of COVID-19 since March. The state added 108 deaths – some occurring several months ago – to raise the total to 5,299.

Hospitalizations dropped slightly to 2,995.
