EL PASO, Texas – The day after El Paso reached the bleak mark of 1,500 people killed by coronavirus, local health officials reported six more deaths.
The deaths did not happen all in one day, but in the period of more than a month.
The last six fatalities included: two men in their 50s; a man in his 60s; a woman in her 70s; and two men in their 70s. Everyone had underlying health problems.
El Paso has already had 1,512 people killed in connection with the pandemic.
El Paso health officials have also reported 808 new cases, with 26 positive results delayed by the state. The new cases are from tests carried out over more than a month.
There are currently 34,856 active cases in El Paso, with almost 66,000 people recovering.
Hospitalizations decreased slightly from 423 to 420. Of these, 174 are in intensive care and 108 need ventilators.
