Law 360 (January 8, 2021, 2:56 pm EST) – The Charleston, South Carolina, sewage system has filed for collective action on behalf of wastewater agencies across the country, which they say are flooded with called washable wipes sold by major retailers, including Costco, Target and Wal-Mart that do not break after washing.
The Charleston Water System told a federal state court in Palmetto that, despite a growing body of evidence that washable handkerchiefs have caused numerous clogs that harm consumers and counties, retailers have refused to back down on their messages.
