New Arizona Wildcats trainer Jedd Fisch has already demonstrated the ability to work the NCAA transfer portal to your advantage, getting commitments for four transfers in the past few days, while convincing several UA players to withdraw from the portal.
And now he has his first high school promise in the form of a potential client with a very good pedigree.
Isaiah Taylor, a defender from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, announced on Twitter that he committed to Arizona in 2021. He chose Wildcats over offers from Illinois, Kansas, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, Syracuse and Vanderbilt.
The 1.5 m tall, 195 pound Taylor is the son of Jason Taylor, a member of the NFL Hall of Fame who played defense for 14 seasons, mostly with the Miami Dolphins.
Currently not ranked by 247Sports, Isaiah Taylor played for the safety of the national powerhouse Santo Tomás de Aquino in Fort Lauderdale, helping his team win the 12º state title last month. As a veteran, Taylor had 28 tackles and two interceptions, including a 100-yard pick-six in early December.
Taylor becomes the 19thº member of Arizona’s 2021 recruiting class, not including transfers, with 15 signatures in December.
