Browns RT Jack Conklin questionable with illness: all the latest injuries and health updates in Cleveland vs. Pittsburgh

The celebrations seem to have been short-lived in recent weeks. Earlier today, the Cleveland Browns attacked from the right Jack Conklin was named to the All-Pro list of the first team. A few hours later, it was announced that the Browns would be practicing on Friday at about 4:30 pm for the first time this week, before flying to Pittsburgh on Saturday.

And then, Kevin Stefanski he spoke – it was then that the mood got a little sour again, while he talked about the status of more than a handful of players for Sunday’s game.

OL – Jack Conklin loses his practice with the disease

  • The most alarming news is that Conklin is not practicing on Friday with what is being called a “disease”. He is listed as questionable for the game. You should remember that a few weeks ago, just before the Jets, LT game Jedrick Wills was excluded the morning of the game due to illness (flu-like symptoms). We can only guess at this point, but my guess is that Conklin probably has flu-like symptoms and is testing negative for COVID right now. If he is showing symptoms, he will need to test negative twice in a 24-hour period. His status for Sunday’s game is in the air.
  • Wyatt Teller is questionable with his persistent calf injury. Just like he did last week, I hope he goes through it.
  • Michael Dunn it is expected to start in the left guard.

CB – Terrance Mitchell questionable for some reason

  • Adding more mystery to things is the fact that CB Terrance Mitchell it is now listed as questionable for a “non-injury reason”. The team did not use the disease designation as they did with Conklin, so I have no idea what it could be. Stefanski said “he doesn’t know if Mitchell will be able to play on Sunday”.
  • Stefanski said the same thing about CB Denzel Ward. This makes sense, because until a player on the COVID list is officially cleared and activated, there is no point in verbally “guessing” whether that player will be available or not. Still, the thought of Cleveland losing his top three cornerbacks (Kevin Johnson included) is quite damning.

Other News

  • On the bright side, WR Donovan Peoples-Jones has been released from his concussion and will practice on Friday.
  • Other players listed as questionable include DE Myles Garrett, DL Sheldon Richardsonand CB MJ Stewart. They should all be able to play.
  • As they are with Ward, the team is still waiting for a word to see if TE Harrison Bryant and LB Malcolm Smith you can play on Sunday.
  • s Jovante Moffatt has been placed on the Reserve / COVID-19 list. OL Javon Patterson has been activated from the Practice Squad / COVID-19 list.
  • Coach WR Chad O’Shea returned to the team today.
  • After a guided tour on Saturday, the Browns will be flying to Pittsburgh, not taking buses as they normally would. Stefanski said it is to allow more space and get to Pittsburgh faster.
