Tesla reveals the third line of the new model Y with photos, and it is very small

Tesla revealed the first images of the third row of the new Model Y for the 7-seater option and, unsurprisingly, is absurdly small.

Tesla Model Y option for third row of 7 seats

Earlier this week, we reported on Tesla’s opening orders for the Model Y standard range RWD and the 7-seater third-row option.

Tesla had promised a 7-seater version of the Model Y since its launch in March 2019.

Many were surprised that a third row would fit in the small SUV, but Tesla said it was viable.

The Model Y went into production in early 2020, but the automaker has focused on other versions of the electric SUV.

Tesla is now starting production of the new $ 3,000 Model Y 7-seater option, and the automaker has listed some of the features that come with the new interior:

  • Third row of seats for two
  • Easy entry on the third line
  • Third-line USB-C charging
  • Second row slider with adjustable backrests
  • Second and third foldable rows for maximum cargo storage
  • Foldable electronic launches in the trunk

We had some glimpses of the Model Y third row in prototypes before, but that was more than a year ago, and Tesla had not developed any new photos so far.

For a while, it was rumored that Tesla would make a third line facing backwards, which could have allowed a little more space, but Tesla opted for a conventional third front line.

The Model Y is a SUV too small to have a third row, and the original look confirmed it would be small.

Now, the new photos that Tesla revealed of the production version of the third line of the Model Y confirm that it is really very small:

Originally, Tesla’s website listed that the 7-seat option would fit “7 adults”, but the automaker has now updated its site to write “7 people.”

This is probably more accurate, as the third line is definitely more suitable for children – making it a great option for families with children.

Small adults can sit in the back, but not very comfortably.
