McMullin, Wood Lead SC Football Post-season Honors

Chase McMullin senior and Everett Wood junior received several honors during the evening presentation of the Smith-Cotton High football program.

McMullin received the Ralph “Stub” Dow award as the best back of the team and was chosen by the coaches as the Offensive Player of the Year.

Wood was the defensive player of the year and joined McMullin on the KMZU Dream Team. Senior Dillan Kessing received the Mark Johnson Academic Achievement scholarship and the William “Bill” Noland football scholarship.

Joe Rodriguez won the Charles Van Dyne award for the best lineman on the team and received the Caleb Stathem Memorial scholarship, awarded by the family of a former SC football player who died from injuries in a car accident.

The team had 36 players who won varsity cards and 16 achieved the Tiger Scholars designation for having an average grade of at least 3.0.
