If you really want a black PS5, the SUP3R5 PS2 themed console is available for ordering today (January 8th).
SUP3R5 has announced that orders will open at 3pm EST / 12pm PT / 8pm BST today, so if you are interested, it is best to set a reminder. The console is shipped internationally, however, the custom console manufacturer reserves the right to restrict shipping to multiple countries and regions.
The impressive retro-style makeover is not officially affiliated with Sony, as you might expect, and you can check it out here.

The custom console and the accompanying DualSense controller are due for release in late spring 2021, and the design reflects the look of the iconic PS2, which remains the best-selling PlayStation console to date, with 155 million units sold across the world.
Production is also limited to just 304 units, so if you want one, you’ll need to be ready to order as soon as they open.
Why only 304 units? Well, apparently it’s a throwback to when the PS2 was originally released: 4/3/00. If you only want the DualSense controller, you must have a slightly best chance as there are 500 units to win.
According to SUP3R5, an impressive 54K have been on the waiting list for the console for nine hours, and the number is almost certain to continue to increase as the black PS5 approaches availability. You will need a huge lucky to get one, then.
While they say you should never know what your chances are, we also want everyone to have expectations in check for tomorrow. At the moment, we have just under 54k on the “waiting list”. We are horrified by this number. We are rooting for each of you.January 8, 2021
The website’s product list indicates that the DualSense controller must be completely disassembled during the conversion process, which means that the standard hardware warranty provided by Sony is void, so keep that in mind. The console, however, will still be covered, as only the side plates are being customized.
Of course, this attractive retro-style design doesn’t come cheap. You will have to pay a premium of $ 99 for the DualSense controller (usually $ 69) and $ 649 for the PS5 console (usually $ 499). When you compare it to a gaudy golden PS5 that will cost more than $ 10,000, it almost seems reasonable.
Risky business
It goes without saying that if you order the SUP3R5 PS5 or DualSense controller, you will do so at your own risk. Sony may also use the ban hammer before the console is actually released, since it already closed a retailer that sold custom PS5 mirrors last year. However, no action has yet been taken.
