Update: SNK released its long-awaited King of Fighters XV trailer (which was already late). It’s not too long, but along with the screenshots we’ve included below, it’s basically our first look at the game, which aims to be released in 2021. The developer promises more information soon – next week, if everything goes according to plan .

Original Story: A small selection of screenshots from King of Fighters XV was obtained from Gematsu after they were mistakenly attached to a recent press release. It is fair to assume that SNK was planning to release these photos along with the big reveal of the gameplay, which was originally scheduled for January 6 before being postponed.
In any case, these images provide our first real look at King of Fighters XV. They display various characters, including Kyo, Mai and Benimaru. From these images alone, it is immediately clear that the next brawler is much more beautiful than its predecessor.
In fact, although King of Fighters XIV gets a lot right in the gameplay department, his visual style has always been met with a lot of criticism – even before its launch in 2016. It’s nice to see that SNK really moved forward with this next project – just as it did with Samurai Shodown.
The images also reveal that King of Fighters XV is targeting a launch in 2021. Are you looking forward to this fighter? Gather your best tag team in the comments section below.
