The Santa Barbara County Department of Public Health (PHD) is reporting 429 new cases of COVID-19 and 8 deaths on Wednesday.
Six individuals were over 70 years old and two were between 30 and 49 years old. Five of the individuals had underlying medical conditions and three of the deaths were associated with an outbreak in a congregated facility. The regions of residence comprise five of the City of Santa Maria, and one of each of the City of Goleta, the Municipality of Not Incorporated in the North and the City of Santa Barbara.
There are now 2,007 active cases in the municipality, including 167 hospitalizations with 55 patients in the intensive care unit (ICU).
ICU availability in southern California and Santa Barbara County is 0%.
Cottage Health is reporting 20% of the capacity available for adult intensive care with 85 isolated patients with symptoms of COVID-19, 81 of which confirmed as positive for COVID-19.
On Wednesday, Ventura County reported 1,520 new cases and 8 additional deaths between the ages of 47 and 102. They had 420 hospitalizations, including 81 in the ICU.
San Luis Obispo County reported 290 new cases on Wednesday, with 2,835 active cases, including 39 hospitalizations, 14 in the ICU.
