Ralph Macchio jokes that his parents are to blame for his frighteningly young appearance.
The 59-year-old “Karate Kid” star says her parents “look too young for their age”.
“For some reason, I have a young energy,” he told People. “A healthy lifestyle doesn’t hurt. But I think I just got lucky in the gene department. “
Huntington, a native of New York, has always looked younger than he was. He was 22 when he filmed his decisive role as high school student Daniel LaRusso in “The Karate Kid” in 1984, and was already married and expecting a child when he appeared as a college student in the 1992 comedy “My Cousin Vinny”.
Macchio has been married to his high school sweetheart, nurse Phyllis, 60, for 33 years, with whom he shares two children. He currently stars in the Netflix series “Cobra Kai”, which continues to follow the life of his character and archenemy Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka).
The show opened its third season on January 1st for a large number and Macchio is thrilled.
“Children watch the program and then say to their parents, ‘Hey, you should check this out. It’s really cool, ”he explained.
Macchio continued: “And the parents say, ‘What are you talking about? That was our first dating movie! ‘Going through the ups and downs of popularity for over 36 years and now being in a place where parents, children and even grandparents share the same emotion is really special. “
