Respawn Entertainment, the Californian studio behind the Apex Legends battle royale, the Titanfall franchise and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, are working on a new secret game that will allow players to continue “adventuring forever”.
Respawn has grown more and more in recent years. In early 2019, the studio exploded into the real battle scenario with Apex Legends, after years of cult success with the Titanfall 2 franchise. They also found gold under the Star Wars adventure title ‘Jedi: Fallen Order’, a story canon in the new Disney universe. It has now been confirmed that they are developing a new mysterious game.
Update, January 6, 2021 5AM ET: The job advertisement linked below now goes to a blank page, with the description deleted and the job itself is no longer listed on the job page.
According to a new job posting published on Respawn website, the studio is setting up an incubation team to develop “a new IP” or “intellectual property”.
The ad calls for a “generalist software engineer”. The list has relatively few details about the project itself, in addition to confirming that the title will use “new and practical technologies” to “enable ‘adventures forever'”. This may suggest a long-term live game with ongoing support from Respawn Entertainment.

Respawn’s focus has been primarily on Apex Legends since its launch in early 2019.
Respawn remains quiet in the “new IP” project
Aside from the relatively vague job list, there was no official word from the American studio about a new game or series in development.
The revelation that a “new IP” is on the way comes a few months after Respawn transferred much of the Apex development to a new studio in Vancouver. At the time, it was rumored that Respawn was already preparing a new title in his old California location. The only word then, was “it wasn’t Titanfall 3”.
“We love to play,” said Respawn chief operating officer Dusty Welch of the studio’s planned projects in an interview for 2020.
“Vince [Zampella] loves to get involved in all kinds of projects. His love of creating games is not just for snipers. But look, you have Star Wars out there. It’s a great passion for Vince and me – and we love all kinds of different games. We will continue to think about ways to expand. “
It is also likely that whatever the new title is, it will not be related to Star Wars or the “Fallen Order” series. Instead, Respawn seems to be moving away from the two series that made them famous in favor of a whole new world.

The new mysterious Respawn game will have nothing to do with the two-part Titanfall saga.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 canceled?
This does not mean that a new title of Fallen Order will not come either.
At the end of March last year, Electronics Arts applauded Respawn for his “successful title” and suggested that they were looking to make a Star Wars franchise.
There has been no official word on these plans since mid-2020, however.

The story of ‘Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order’ will still continue eventually.
For now, be quiet. Respawn will still be a long way from any official announcement about this title, especially considering that they are just getting software engineers on board right now.
And Apex Legends fans, don’t worry; Battle Royale will not suffer a minimum from the new focus. That’s why they established the studio in Vancouver!
