South Carolina man and youth arrested on drug charges in connection with shooting in Huntington

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – A man and a young man from Bishopville, South Carolina, are under arrest on drug charges stemming from an investigation into a shooting on Friday in Huntington.

Police say Kentez Jamal Gregg, 24, and a young male were arrested on Saturday morning for possession with the intention of delivering a controlled substance.

The officers responded to a call that went off just before 8 pm on Friday at block 2500 on 12th Avenue. When they arrived at the scene, police said they found a man outside a house with a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital.

Shortly after 1 am on Saturday, police said a man appeared at St. Mary’s Medical Center with a gunshot wound. The police say this man was also shot in the incident on 12th Avenue.

The first victim is in stable condition, but the second has been released.

Police said that while investigating the shooting, they learned of two possible suspects in a house on Avenida Oney.

The police obtained a search warrant for the house, where they say they found the suspects, two firearms and a number of narcotics.

The shooting investigation is ongoing.
