Hayley Williams revealed that she is recording her own Taylor Swift ‘Folklore’ equivalent.
Posting on Instagram, the Paramore singer uploaded two clips, one showing the singer playing the drums and the other in which she says: “We don’t need drums if this is my ‘Folklore’.” You can see the post below.
Swift’s critically acclaimed album, co-written and produced by Aaron Dessner of The National, was recently nominated for a series of 2012 Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year.
When ‘Folklore’ was released in July, NME gave the album four stars, welcoming the singer’s initial “indie-folk makeover”.
Since then, the singer has released her successor ‘Evermore’, which received five stars last month, with NME praising Swift for “[pushing] the limits of his indie reinvention, adding some of the brilliance of the ‘1989’ era to produce a beacon of hope ”.
‘Evermore’ – which is Swift’s number one album in the UK – set a new record among female artists, with the singer reaching her six number one albums in the UK in an eight-year record.
The singer is also the first artist in four years to reach number one with two different albums in the same year.
Meanwhile, Williams released his own debut solo ‘Petals For Armor’ last February, which was also awarded four stars for NME and described as the singer “going alone with a fiercely vulnerable alternative pop”.
Her latest comments suggest that she will take her solo material to another level.
In other news, she recently assured Paramore fans that the band is not breaking up.
