Maine (WABI) – Nine more people in Maine lost their lives with COVID-19, according to the latest figures released by the Maine CDC.
In addition, there are 599 new cases reported.
This brings the total number of cases in our state to 26,565 since the beginning of the pandemic.
Of these, 22,448 are confirmed.
Three of the deaths reported on Tuesday, January 5, occurred in York County. There were two in each county of Cumberland and Aroostook. Both Kennebec and Somerset reported a coronavirus-related death.
This has brought a total of 369 deaths since March.
York County again seeing the highest number of new cases compared to other counties, 163 more cases reported since Monday.
Cumberland County has 84 new cases, 71 in Androscoggin County.
There are 64 new cases registered in Penobscot County, 43 in Kennebec County.
Washington County with 11 new cases, 18 in Franklin County and 14 in Somerset County.
Waldo County with two and Knox County registering only one new case since Monday, according to the Maine CDC.
