Katy Perry talks about learning to be ‘resilient’ during a BTS glimpse in her Coca-Cola campaign

Katy Perry started out wanting to spread hope and positivity in the face of adversity by taking a behind-the-scenes look at her recent campaign with Coca-Cola, which features her banner Resilient.

Months after releasing a remix of the song with Tiësto and Spanish singer Aitana, the 36-year-old pop star called the collaboration “incredible” and unveiled the meaning behind the inclusive and uplifting hymn.

“To get through life levels, you have to be resilient,” the Grammy nominee said in her last Instagram video on Monday.

Speaking of learning to adapt well in the face of trauma and tragedy, the Roar singer suggested verbalizing resilience until ‘you really become resilient’.

‘I always believed that words have ✨energy✨ Start by telling yourself that you are #RESILIENT, and maybe you believe in yourself,’ she wrote in her caption.

In the brief video, Perry wore a bold red lipstick that matched her sweatshirt and the bottom behind her while she held up her beloved cup of Poodle tea.

Her glamorous makeup highlighted her flawless complexion, strong eyebrows and long lashes on the set.

Meanwhile, her short, shiny blond hair was tied in an elegant low ponytail.

Later, she traded the red sweatshirt and gold hoop earrings for black and white polka dot pajamas while posing on the bed for a Coca-Cola ad.

On the fifth track of her sixth studio album, Smile, she sings about not letting ‘concrete hold’ her back and climbing higher ‘the stronger the wind blows’.

– Do you know that the darker the night, the stronger the brightness of the stars? she sings in the powerful ballad.

The new mother, who welcomed her baby girl Dove with fiance Orlando Bloom four months ago, was open about her mental health and her battle with depression in the past.

In August, she talked about suffering depression during the Witness tour after the poor commercial and critical reception of her fifth studio album in 2017.

Speaking to The Guardian, she said: ‘Nothing, no opportunity, no person could inspire me to get out of bed. My depression appeared in lethargy, in lack of interest. Like, now I just don’t care about anything. Anything. And don’t expect anything. ‘

Katy revealed that she spent a week at the Hoffman Institute, which is advertised as an effective treatment for depression, anger and anxiety, as well as comparing her negative behaviors that she wanted to treat as a ‘Mary Poppins scholarship’.

The star also made reference to the moment in her 2012 documentary Katy Perry: Part of Me, where she shed tears before performing on stage after her marriage to Russel Brand ended.

Katy added that she has now learned to ‘compartmentalize’ and that you have to put your ‘personal life aside for two hours’ while performing, joking that she provides a ‘Disneyland service’.

She said: ‘I learned to compartmentalize and to be a performer. You keep your personal life for two hours and realize that people are paying with their time and money to come and see the jester, to escape from their own things.

Katy also addressed the previous reaction after being accused of ‘cultural appropriation’ several times in her career.

The star was criticized in 2013 after dressing up as a geisha for the American Music Awards and, in the same year, was heavily criticized for wearing hair braids for the video This is How We Do.

Katy, who has been in therapy since the age of 25, told the newspaper that it came from a ‘lack of youthful education’ and that she is now more evolved as a human being.

Since becoming a mother, Hitmaker Chained To The Rhythm looks happier than ever, as she and her man are “obsessed” with their daughter.

A source told Entertainment Tonight that the feeling of singing ‘has been incredible with your daughter.’

The source shared: ‘The couple and their love for each other had grown to a level they hadn’t even expected since their daughter’s arrival.’

They have been engaged since 2019 and intended to get married this year in Japan, but delayed the festivities because of COVID-19.
