In recent years, OnePlus has grown from a beloved niche brand to a powerhouse in the United States market. Its strategy is simple: sell flagship smartphones at affordable prices. Last year, the company announced its first mid-range offerings, the OnePlus Nord and OnePlus Nord N10 5G. And while neither arrived in the United States in 2020, OnePlus is now fulfilling its promise to bring the Nord N10 5G to the United States along with its first budget phone, the Nord N100.
The OnePlus Nord N10 5G and OnePlus Nord N100 will be available on T-Mobile, T-Mobile Metro and on the OnePlus website later this month. Both offer serious hardware at very low prices, which pits them against competitors like the Motorola Moto G Power.
With a 6.49 inch screen and 90 Hz refresh rate, the $ 300 Nord N10 5G is the most expensive and feature rich in the pair. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 690 chipset and offers 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. And if the name didn’t denounce it, it also works on T-Mobile’s 5G network.
There is a robust 4,300 mAh battery that should easily carry heavy users for an entire day between charges. But if you’re short on time, the OnePlus includes a 30W Warp charger in the box. A 10-minute quick charge will easily add several hours of energy to a dead battery.
(The OnePlus Nord N10 5G features a stack of quad cameras.)
On the back of the phone, you’ll find a fingerprint sensor along with a stack of quad cameras with a 64MP primary lens, 8MP ultra-wide lens and 2MP depth and macro lenses. A 16 MP selfie shooter is ahead.
OnePlus Nord N100
If you’re not worried about 5G or just want to save some money, it’s worth taking a look at the OnePlus Nord N100. It is a scaled-down version of the Nord N10 5G that costs less than $ 200. It has a 6.52-inch screen, stereo speakers and a huge 5,000 mAh battery with 18W fast charging.
The phone has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 processor, 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. There is a fingerprint sensor on the back of the phone, next to a three camera module with 13 MP main lens and 2 MP depth and macro sensors. The front camera is clocked at 8 MP.
Both phones come with Android 10, along with the OnePlus OxygenOS 10.5 case. It is among our favorite Android cases and offers features like Zen Mode to help you get away from the phone, as well as a Black and White Mode for reading. It is not known if any of the phones will receive Android 11 treatment in the coming months, but OnePlus tends to have an excellent history of software updates.
The Nord duo will be available online and at T-Mobile and Metro by T-Mobile stores on January 15 at 10am ET. The Nord N10 with 5G capacity will cost $ 299.99, while the Nord N100 will be available for $ 179.99. Pre-orders will air on Amazon, Best Buy, B&H and OnePlus on January 8 at 10am ET.
