We have finally arrived at the 2021 Junior World Championship gold medal game and will have another classic fight on our hands to see who will be the champion. Canada has won the competition so far with a perfect 4-0 in the group stage and defeating their opponents 33-4 in the process. The United States, on the other hand, fought an early defeat to Russia in their debut game and surprised Finland with a goal at the end of the semifinals, courtesy of Arthur Kaliyev.
Surprisingly, this will only be the fifth time that the two nations have faced each other in the gold medal game. The United States has won three of the previous four meetings, with its last victory returning in 2017, following the Troy Terry shootout winner.
