Did you use the H&R block to file your taxes? They probably received your stimulus check :: WRAL.com

– Some H&R Block customers found on Tuesday that their stimulus checks were deposited in a different account than theirs.

The US Treasury Department began issuing $ 600 stimulus checks to taxpayers last week as part of the government’s latest pandemic relief effort.

Carlos Peppers said he was concerned when he learned that his check was being deposited in a bank account with a number that he did not recognize.

“To me, when I first looked, it looked like it was a scam,” said Peppers.

The account belongs to H&R Block, which Peppers used to declare his taxes last year.

Numerous H&R Block and TurboTax customers have their money deposited into a refund transfer account that is usually set up to transfer tax refunds.

“I’m a little excited because I have questions like, ‘Why couldn’t you deposit this into my account?’ because this is taking up my time, “said Peppers.

“The IRS determines where the second stimulus payments were sent and, in some cases, the money was sent to a different account than the first stimulus payment last spring,” said H&R Block in a statement.

The money should be transferred to customers’ accounts by the end of the week, the company said.

“The money should already be in my account,” said Peppers angrily.

Chase Bank customers have also had problems with stimulus payments.

Anthony Papa said his payment appeared in his account and then disappeared before reappearing hours later.

“In all honesty, I thought someone had hacked my bank account because I had problems with it before,” said Henderson’s Papa.

Chase officials said they are aware of the problem with some customers, and the stimulus money is back in their customers’ accounts.
