Apple working on foldable iPhone, says report

Apple is a step closer to making its foldable iPhone a reality a long time ago.

The tech giant based in Cupertino, California, allegedly asked manufacturer Foxconn to create two prototypes to test potential future iPhone projects.

The two designs will be very different, reports the Tom Guide, with one featuring a large canvas that folds in half, while the other consists of two separate screens joined by a hinge.

It is unclear whether Apple plans to launch a pair of foldable phones or is experimenting to find the best design.

The report comes in the wake of an Apple patent application published last week for an ultra-flexible phone with a screen that can be folded in and out.

Apple recently launched its newest family of iPhones, including its smallest iPhone in years, the 12 Mini.
