Discovery + launches in the US starting at $ 5 / month

The latest streaming service, Discovery +, is now available to those interested in strictly binging programs from channels such as HGTV, Animal Planet, Food Network and Heaven Proibide, TLC.

In total, Discovery + offers access to more than 2,500 TV shows, as well as new originals, all for a starting price of $ 4.99 / month (with ads). For an ad-free experience, you’ll pay $ 6.99 / month. If you are a Verizon customer, your price is much better. In fact, you won’t pay anything for the first 12 months of an ad-free account. Lucky ducks. The only caveat is that you will need a particular wireless or home internet plan. More details can be seen here for Verizon customers.

Back at Discovery +, access to the service was well thought out. At launch, there are apps for all different platforms, including Android TV, Xbox, Roku, Apple and more.

If you want to get started, Discovery + offers a week of free use, so even if you don’t intend to sign up, I recommend checking out that new program from the Irwin family when you’re ready. I love these kids.
