The singer has a long history of years with Hillsong Church and has been seen participating in services throughout his Daily and goal ages. In 2013, he posted a photo with the prominent pastor of the organization Carl Lentz with the caption: “I love you, brother”.
Lentz has been a pastor at Manhattan Hillsong Church since 2010 and named Bieber – referred to by the nickname “Buckaroo” – in the bathtub of New York Knicks star Tyson Chandler in Manhattan, according to a 2015 report GQ profile, who also noted that Bieber moved briefly to Lentz in 2014.
The duo reportedly had a fight in 2018.
In November 2020, news emerged that Lentz was fired for “issues of leadership and breach of trust, in addition to a recent revelation of moral flaws”.
In his own apology post, Lentz shared: “I was unfaithful in my marriage, the most important relationship in my life and held responsible for it,” he shared. “This is my fault, and only I, and I take full responsibility for my actions.
