Alabama’s perfect streak came to an end when Crimson Tide fell 77-60 against No. 5 South Carolina on Monday night at the Coleman Coliseum in their first loss of the season.

Here are three things we learned:

Alabama was dominated in the councils

From start to finish, the Crimson Tide (8-1, 1-1 SEC) was completely dominated in the rebound battle.

Alabama ended with 24 rebounds on the rebound margin, losing 55 rebounds to the Gamecocks (7-1, 2-0).

Alabama played well in defense, forcing missed shots and spins, but failed to limit second chance points.

South Carolina’s main rebounds were Aliyah Boston and Brea Beal, who finished with 10 points each.

Jordan Lewis has another great game

Entering the SEC game, Jordan Lewis wanted to improve his conditioning.

After establishing a career high against Missouri, she established her best personal mark with 28 against South Carolina.

In her first two games, she scored 55 points with eight assists.

Early foul problems limit Ariyah Copeland’s impact

Ariyah Copeland struggled with season averages, scoring eight points and seven rebounds.

She suffered her second foul with 6:25 remaining in the second half and sat down until the start of the second half.

Compared to the All-American pre-season Aliyah Boston, Copeland struggled to find a rhythm under the basket and hit just 4 out of 8, missing the shots he made throughout the season.
