After nearly 10,000 medical professionals and other individuals at risk of exposure to COVID-19 have been vaccinated, Orlando Health is expanding its vaccination program to reach more members of the community.
From 6am on Monday, Orlando Health’s vaccination events will be open to:
- All frontline healthcare professionals not affiliated with Orlando Health (including dental and EMS teams).
- Residents and staff in nursing homes and assisted living facilities that could not be vaccinated.
- Orlando Health team members, family members of the medical team and loved ones aged 65 and over.
- Orlando Health staff members and medical staff members who have not yet received the first dose of the vaccine.
“Since the launch of our vaccination program on December 18, we have shown that we can vaccinate thousands of people and help protect them from COVID-19,” said David Strong, president and CEO of Orlando Health. “Now, we want to administer the COVID-19 vaccine quickly and effectively to even more members of our community.”
Scheduling is required to receive the Modern COVID-19 vaccine free of charge. To make an appointment, which is available on a first come, first served basis, visit https://vaccine.orlandohealth.com. Walk-ups will not be accepted.
Consultations will be available from January 4 at the Orlando Health facility:
- Orlando Health Dr. P. Phillips Hospital.Hospital.
- Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies.
- Orlando Health South Seminole Hospital.
- Orlando Health – Central Health Hospital.
- Orlando Health South Lake Hospital.
- Orlando Health St. Cloud Hospital.
- Bayfront Health St. Petersburg.
The vaccine Moderna COVID-19 requires two doses with an interval of four weeks.
It is necessary to schedule the first and second doses of the vaccine.
Those who receive the vaccine should plan to remain in the post-vaccination observation area for up to 30 minutes. The total time from arrival at the vaccination site to leaving the observation area can vary, but can be up to 90 minutes. Prior to vaccination, a review of product-specific safety information and consent will be required. A form of identification is required at the time of consultation.
