The Green Bay Packers (13-3) are the No. 1 seed in the NFC, winning the only goodbye in the first round of the conference this year and the opportunity to host a game in the NFC Divisional Round against the team with the lowest rating remaining on the field playoff.
Matt LaFleur’s team has four possible opponents for the weekend of January 16-17.
The first round of the NFC playoffs looks like this:
No. 7 Chicago Bears (8-8) at No. 2 New Orleans Saints (12-4)
No. 6 Los Angeles Rams (10-6) at No. 3 Seattle Seahawks (12-4)
5th. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (11-5) on Washington’s 4th football team (7-9)
If the Bears beat the Saints, the Packers will host the Bears. No other result would matter. The Bears are the team with the lowest seed in the NFC.
If all teams with more positions won, the Packers would receive the Washington Football Team.
If the Saints, Seahawks and Buccaneers win, the Packers will receive the Buccaneers.
If the Saints, Rams and Buccaneers win, the Packers will receive the Rams.
There is no scenario where Packers can play with the Saints or Seahawks in the NFC Divisional Round.
The Packers won the Bears in two games, but lost to the Buccaneers in Tampa Bay. LaFleur’s team did not play against the Washington Football Team or the Rams this season.
The official dates and times of the second round will be announced after the results of the Wild Card Round.
