WandaVision Promo Signals Phase 4 of the MCU

The new “Signal” promotion for Disney + WandaVision promises the start of a “new era” for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

With WandaVision scheduled to open in less than two weeks on January 15, the latest teaser for Marvel Studios’ first Disney + series heralds a new era for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Dubbed the “Signal” teaser, the promotion continues to strip the layers of Elizabeth Olsen’s bizarre reality from Wanda Maximoff where Wanda Maximoff found herself. At some point, an old clock / radio can make a signal by repeatedly calling Wanda’s name. The promo itself also signals the start of Phase Four of the MCU, promising that with “a new year” comes “a new era”.

WandaVision not just Marvel Studios’ first Disney + series, but – following the backwardness of films like Black Widow and Eternals – will also be the first MCU project launched as part of Phase Four as a whole. Composed of six episodes, WandaVision Season 1 is scheduled to end on February 19th and will soon be followed by Marvel Studios’ second Disney + series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which is set to debut its own first six-episode season on March 19.

According to the official synopsis of WandaVision,

Marvel Studios’ “WandaVision” combines the style of classic sitcoms with the Marvel cinematic universe, in which Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany) – two superpowered beings who live their ideal suburban lives – begin to suspect that not everything it’s how it looks. The new series is directed by Matt Shakman; Jac Schaeffer is the principal writer. Premiere at Disney + this year.
