Have you ever felt like a plastic bag, floating in the wind, wanting to start again?

Sorry, Kat Silver from Mayim Bialik can’t relate.

O Big Bang Theory graduated is the title of Fox Call Me Kat, a remake of the beloved British sitcom Miranda which has the star of the original series Miranda Hart among its executive producers (along with Bialik’s ex-husband on TV, Jim Parsons). In a moment, we’ll want to hear what you think of the United States adaptation – but first, a brief recap of the series’s premiere:

After her father’s death, Kat decides to abandon her successful career as a math teacher and use her savings to open a cafe for cats in Louisville, Ky., Which she runs with the help of her trusted employees, Phil (Will and grace veterinarian / Instagram sensation Leslie Jordan) and Randi (One by oneby Kyla Pratt). Kat’s mother, Sheila (Mike and Molly(Swoosie Kurtz), fears that her daughter’s career change is a step in the wrong direction and doesn’t think the 39-year-old woman will be really happy until she finds a husband. The “radiant cat lady” tries to convince her mother otherwise – through music, no less! (Katy Perry’s “Firework” suggestion) – but she doesn’t do herself any favors when she tries to pass for openly gay Phil as her much older BFF boyfriend TaraBH90210Vanessa Lachey) renewal of votes.

Cheyenne Jackson and Mayim Bialik in Fox's 'Call Me Kat'Kat’s forever single plans are potentially frustrated when the college has Hot Max – err, Max (american horror story(Cheyenne Jackson) – returns to Kentucky after a decade in Europe, where he recently left a long-term relationship. After several disagreements – first at the local pub where he currently runs the bar, then at Tara’s wedding reception – Max goes to the cafe and asks Kat if she would like to have dinner on time. The overly excited Kat accepts his offer, then accidentally kicks him in the face, potentially breaking his nose.

* For a sitcom set in a cafe for cats, didn’t you expect there to be more cats?
