Vandalism, protests signal that 2020 election fury could spread to 2021

America’s fury in 2020 is already marking 2021.

Why it matters: Each day brings new raw, even shocking evidence, that the November election, despite a clear result, did nothing to tame the turmoil in torn America.

  • Vandals spread political graffiti in the homes of the two main Congress leaders.
  • New Hampshire canceled the public possession of his Republican governor because of armed demonstrators in his backyard.
  • Vice President Pence it is now supporting a growing movement among Republicans in Congress to stage a pointless last-minute protest against President-elect Joe Biden’s certification on Wednesday.
  • President Trump is eagerly promoting a loser ball: his supporters are promising to converge on DC across the country on Wednesday, when Biden’s victory becomes official. “THIS MAY BE THE LARGEST EVENT IN WASHINGTON DC’S HISTORY”, states a video from Trump retweeted overnight on Saturday.

The attacks at House of Mayor Nancy Pelosi in San Francisco and at the home of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell in Kentucky constitute an impressive new transgression:

  • Garbage bags were glued to Pelosi’s garage door yesterday, covering a “$ 2K” that had been spray-painted and scratched by $ 2,000 stimulus checks, reports the NBC Bay Area. The graffiti, which occupied the entire garage door, also said: “CANCEL RENT!” and “WE WANT EVERYTHING!” In the driveway, there was fake blood and a red pig’s head.
  • In Louisville, The spray paint on McConnell’s door said, “WERES MY BONEY.” “MITCH KILLS THE POOR” was scrawled in a window, reports the AP. An obscene language addressed to McConnell was painted under the mailbox.

New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu a Republican elected for a third term in November, he preached on CNN yesterday when explaining his decision to cancel his outdoor swearing-in ceremony because of “ongoing public security concerns.”

  • Sununu called this an “accumulation, I think, of what we are seeing across the country. … There is this whole new frontier, there is a new beacon of what people consider acceptable when they are not happy.”
  • Now Sununu will hold a virtual inauguration, with the presence of legislative leaders.
