The way to the Super Bowl on the NFC goes through Green Bay.

The Packers gained the advantage of playing at home during the NFC playoffs with a victory today in Chicago. The win gives Packers a 13-3 record this season, the best of the conference. They will say goodbye to the playoff in the first round and then host their first postseason game on January 16th or 17th.

It was an impressive game by Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who may have won the league’s Most Valuable Player award. Rodgers launched three touchdown passes and no interceptions, and although he made some passes in the second half that could have been chosen, for the most part he was accurate and in control of the attack.

Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky did not play as well, although it was accurate when launching short passes in Matt Nagy’s conservative game plan. Unfortunately, since the Bears were left behind by two points at the end of the fourth period, Trubisky shot the field, which was intercepted. Trubisky didn’t do enough to win, but he was far from the main reason for the Bears’ defeat. The Bears’ real problem was that their defense simply didn’t have a game plan to stop Rodgers.

Fortunately for the Bears, the Rams won the Cardinals. This means that Bears will make the playoffs as the last NFC wild card, and they will be on the road against the Saints in the playoffs next weekend. And if the Bears pull the trigger, they’ll be in Green Bay next week.
