Sony unveiled the next set of freebies for PlayStation Plus subscribers in January 2021: Maneater, Shadow of the Tomb Raider and GreedFall.
While the latter two are optimized for PS4, the first is the PS5 version, so the “benefit of PlayStation Plus [is] not applicable for Maneater on PS4 “, apparently.
“PlayStation Plus starts 2021 with a bang. PlayStation Plus members will receive two PS4 titles – Shadow of the Tomb Raider action and adventure and Greedfall action RPG – on Tuesday, January 5,” wrote Adam SIE on the official PS Blog.
“On the same day, PS5 owners with a PlayStation Plus subscription can play a terrible RPG predator in the open world (sea?).”

If you recently purchased the PS5 version of Maneater – and you recently purchased it, we’re talking about in the last few weeks – it looks like Sony is issuing automatic refunds.
“I bought the Maneater last month. I called the PS5 to let them know that they are reimbursing me,” said u / BraeWhyit on Reddit. Sony’s statement stated: “As a PlayStation Plus subscriber, we will refund the purchase price of this product in your PlayStation Store wallet, as this is a monthly PlayStation Plus game. This will not affect your ability to play, as we have not removed the game from your library “.
Apparently, there is no similar deal for those who recently purchased Shadow of the Tomb Raider or GreedFall.
The games will be available for download from Tuesday, January 4, when the current crop of gifts – Just Cause 4, Worms Rumble, Rocket Arena and Bugsnax – will be removed from the promotion.
