AUGUSTA, Maine (WABI) – Another seven Maine residents died as a result of the coronavirus, while the Maine CDC reports another 343 cases.
Maine’s death toll jumps to 358.
Additional deaths reported on Saturday are:
- A woman in her 80s in Cumberland County
- A 70 year old man from Cumberland County
- A 70 year old man from Cumberland County
- A woman in her 80s in Cumberland County
- A 60 year old man from Cumberland County
- A 70 year old woman from Cumberland County
- A woman in her 90s from York County
Overall, the cases are 25,245 and 21,412 are confirmed.
A Maine CDC spokesman said that due to some computer problems on Friday, counts for each county were not made available.
The new case totals for Saturday represent a change in the past two days.
According to the Maine CDC, recovery numbers are not up to date, so we can no longer accurately report active cases. Instead, we are providing new case counts for each county.
As of Saturday, 32,090 people have been vaccinated.
The Department of Health and Human Services says the state placed its fifth order on Thursday for more doses as well.
The order will allow an additional 17,075 Mainers to be vaccinated against the virus.
