To launch 2021, OnePlus presented its plans to update previous generation devices to OxygenOS 11 and Android 11. The list of devices we refer to includes the OnePlus Nord, OnePlus 7 and 7T series, OnePlus 6 and 6T series and recently launched OnePlus Nord 10 5G and N100.
The first device programmed to catch the major update of Android 11 from the OnePlus will be its highest level Nord, the original OnePlus Nord. OnePlus is launching a first version of the OxygenOS 11 Open Beta for him next week. This beta version will help OnePlus to further test and adapt it to its “standards”, so that it can be implemented for everyone.
There is no current estimate of when the Android 11 update to OnePlus Nord will be stable, so if you want the latest software, you will have to join the beta. Doing so is not difficult, but it may come off when the balance arrives.
Then, OnePlus hopes to update the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7T Series. After encountering some kind of data decryption problem when trying to port Android 11 to each other, OnePlus says it worked with Qualcomm to fix the problem and is now running closed beta tests. Assuming that the closed tests go well, they will run an Open Beta as they are about to do with the OnePlus Nord before pushing into the stable.
Again, there is no specific timeline for when the OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7 Pro or 7T can get the update out of the beta.
And finally, the OnePlus 6, 6T, Nord N10 5G and Nord N100 should receive Android 11, but we have absolutely no idea when that will happen. OnePlus still hopes to update all of these devices at some point, just understand that they need to update the original Nord and both Series 7 devices first.
We’ll let you know as soon as these builds start to become available. In the meantime, be sure to check out OxygenOS and Android 11 together first.
