The announcement was made through a new trailer, below, which is packed “with nods to the past, present and future”, McMillen teased in a post on Steam.
On Twitter, McMillen answered some questions about this long-awaited expansion, saying The regret “will expand the game a lot, adding tons of new bosses, floors, alternate paths, items, story elements, challenges and some incredible characters”.
The Binding of Isaac was released in September 2011 and helped to spark a renewed interest in the roguelike genre. Eurogamer review The Binding of Isaac it came on 9/10 (remember the review scores?). Since then, there have been expansions, a console launch and spin-offs.
